Tom A Smith

Tom A. Smith is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from Sunderland who’s quickly establishing himself as one of the UK’s most exciting young talents. A seasoned performer since the age of 12, cutting his teeth at open mic nights alongside the likes of Sam Fender, Tom recently sold out two hometown headline shows at The Fire Station (1,800 tickets) and was cast to play Dave Stewart in an upcoming musical biopic filmed in the city. Whether performing solo or backed by his band (Katie, Dylan and Fraser), Tom’s powerful songwriting and live energy have taken him to major stages including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, and BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
Hand-picked to support artists such as Catfish & The Bottlemen, Courteeners, The Lathums, Billy Bragg, DMA’s and Elton John at Hyde Park, Tom has also collaborated with Miles Kane and Hugo White (The Maccabees / 86TVs). He’s performed on Soccer AM, MOTD X and Sunday Brunch, and received strong support from Radio X, Absolute Radio and BBC tastemakers including Jack Saunders, Greg James and Chris Hawkins. With a recent AIM Award nomination for Most Played New Independent Artist, Tom A. Smith is just getting started.
